Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag device capable of suppressing an expanding air bag from pressing hard an obstacle when the obstacle is approaching as well as capable of quickly expanding the air bag when normally performing an occupant protection.SOLUTION: A side air bag device comprises: an air bag 15; and a suppressing member 95 disposed around a folding-completed body 107, which is the folded air bag 15, for suppressing protrusion forward when the air bag 15 expands. The suppressing member 95 is made of a flexible sheet material, and configured as a belt-like body disposed around the folding-completed body 107, with both end sides connected to the folding-completed body 107 sides, and comprises a sagging part 97 arranged on a forward protruding direction side of the folding-completed body 107 separated from the folding-completed body 107. The sagging part 97 causes a breaking planned part breakable at time of expansion of the air bag 15 to be disposed in an area on the forward protruding direction of the folding-completed body 107.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
