Abstract:
To provide a compact side airbag device that achieves both the optimizing of the distribution of a load, including an input load, to a high resistance part in the skeleton structure of a human body and the securing of a space between an occupant and a side wall part and that has an excellent ability to be mounted.SOLUTION: An airbag 5 has an inner base fabric 6, an outer base fabric 7, and a regulating member (a tether 8) provided between the inner base fabric and the outer base fabric. The regulating member has front connection parts 83, 85, each of which is connected to a front part of the inner base fabric, and rear connection parts 84, 86 each of which is connected to a rear part of the inner base fabric; a vehicle longitudinal length, from each font connection part to each rear connection part, of the regulating member is shorter than a length, from each front connection part to each rear connection part, of the inner base fabric; each rear connection part is located further in a vehicle front than a front end part of a side frame (a first side frame 231) and is located further in a vehicle rear than a line segment connecting a hip point and a center position of a shoulder in a case where an occupant seated on a vehicle seat is a side collision dummy AM50 in a vehicle side view.
