Abstract:

PURPOSE: To tightly connect caissons by mechanically clamping the connecting portions of two caissons by using a jack.

CONSTITUTION: Two caissons 11 are set close to each other, and the other ends (bolt-insertion hole 26) of connecting parts 20 and 21 coupled to the upper and lower brackets 18 and 19 of the right-handed caisson 11 is coupled with the upper and lower brackets 18 and 19 of the side 15 of the left-handed caisson 11. Then, an oil jack 22 is operated to pull an upper pulling rod 23a downwardly and also a lower pulling rode 23b upwardly, the connecting parts 20 and 21 are bent at respective pivot connection portin as the centers and clamped, and thereby the facing sides of the caissons 11 are welded through end edges with packings 27. Afterwards, the water in a bulk head 17 is drained, and cement concrete is placed into the bulkhead and hardened.
