PURPOSE: To provide a side surface grinding method and device whereby a side surface of a tip can be ground in good work efficiency.

CONSTITUTION: Grinding wheel rotating mechanisms 20 are deflected respectively at a prescribed angle relating to a tip saw 300 by a table angle adjusting mechanism. The grinding wheel rotating mechanisms 20 are further guided by rails 152a, 152b and brought into slide contact with tips 302 of the tip saw 300 by a table displacing mechanism. Here because diamond wheels 268a, 268b are rotated, the diamond wheels 268a, 268b are prevented from locally coming into contact with the tip 302 of the tip saw 300, and the tip can be accurately ground. Since the tip saw 300 is rotated, the tip is not ground edge by edge, to improve a grinding speed.
