To provide a small and lightweight signal generating apparatus which is conveniently carried, and to provide a small and lightweight signal generating apparatus which can be used as an OFDM signal generator and is conveniently carried.
The signal generating apparatus 1 is provided with a D/A converter 4 which converts radio signals in a low-frequency zone read out from a hard disk 2 into analog signals, a frequency conversion part 5 which converts the analog signals converted by the D/A converter 4 into high-frequency signals. Radio signals in a low-frequency zone which are obtained by converting OFDM signals in an IF zone or a UHF zone used for terrestrial digital television broadcasting into low-frequency signals (digital OFDM signals whose center frequency is 5 MHz and whose bandwidth is 5.7 MHz, for example) are previously stored in the hard disk 2 in the signal generating apparatus 1. OFDM signals in the IF zone or the UHF zone are output as inspection signals by using the stored radio signals in the low-frequency zone as a signal source.
