Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signature inspection apparatus and a signature inspection method capable of detecting a defective state of being bent or broken in portions other than end portions in a signature.SOLUTION: A signature inspection apparatus includes: a signature thickness detection part 40 for detecting a thickness of a signature at one or a plurality of portions including portions other than both end portions of the signature in a direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of the signature; recording means 62 for previously recording the thickness of the signature at one or the plurality of the portions including portions other than both end portions of the signature in the direction orthogonal to the conveying direction of the signature; and determination means 66 for determining whether or not the signature is defective based on a comparison result between a detection result regarding the thickness of the signature, which is detected by the signature thickness detection part 40, and a recording content regarding the signature thickness, which is recorded by the recording means 62.
