Abstract:
To provide silicon carbide powder that is less likely to cause thickening even when added to a liquid dissimilar material, such as liquid resin and molten metal.SOLUTION: Silicon carbide powder is powder of silicon carbide whose crystal system is α-type. The number of small corner parts among corner parts on a surface of primary particles of the silicon carbide constituting the powder of silicon carbide is 2.5 pieces or less per primary particle. The small corner parts among corner parts being present at a contour of the primary particles in a projected image of the primary particles are corner parts in which twice a radius of curvature thereof is one fifth or less of Heywood diameter in the projected image of the primary particles.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
