Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silicon rubber composition excellent in high-voltage electrical insulating properties such as weather resistance, stain resistance and voltage endurance, by adding an inorganic filler and titanium oxide powder for photocatalyst to a specific organopolysiloxane.
SOLUTION: This composition contains (A) 100 pts.wt. of an organic peroxide curing type or addition reaction curing type organopolysiloxane, (B) 1-500 pts.wt. of an inorganic filler and (C) 10-100 pts.wt. of titanium oxide powder for photocatalyst having ≤0.3μm average particle diameter and a crystal unit lattice of anatase type. Preferably, the component B is selected from among aluminum hydroxide, ground quartz and spherical fused silica and the component A of the organic peroxide curing type consists essentially of an organopolysiloxane of the formula [R1 is a (substituted) monofunctional hydrocarbon with the proviso that 0.01-20mol% of R1 is an alkenyl; (a) is positive number of 1.9-2.4] containing at least ≥2 alkenyl groups on the average and a catalytic amount of an organic peroxide.
