This sill device for an elevator is provided with guide grooves 6, 7 which are formed in a sill 5 so as to receive door shoes 3, 4 fitted freely slidably, closing members 8, 12 which are arranged within a door opening/closing area L in the guide grooves 6, 7 so as to close the guide grooves 6, 7, slanting face parts 8d, 12d which are formed on a door full-open sides in the closing members 8, 12 and can be brought into contact with the door shoes 3, 4, compression springs 11 energizing the closing members 8, 12 to the closing positions, engaging holes 10 formed in the sill 5, and engaging rods 9 which are freely inserted into the engaging holes 10 and installed in the closing members 8, 12. When the door is fully opened, the closing members 8, 12 are moved to the closing positions by means of the compression springs 11. When the door is closed, the closing members 8, 12 can be retracted by means of the door shoes 3, 4.
