PURPOSE: To lower contrast of a finished image, by developing a silver halide color photographic material containing a dye used for a silver dye bleach photographic process with a black-and-white developing solution containing a specified compound, and then, carrying out dye bleach, silver bleach, and fixing.
CONSTITUTION: A silver halide color photographic material containing dye for use in a silver dye bleach process is black-and-white developed using a black- and-white developing solution containing an alkaline agent, a preservative, an accelerator, various kinds of developing chemicals, and a thiazole derivative of a formulaIin which R is alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl; R', R" are each H or alkyl or each may form an alkyl-substd. benzene ring, an imidazole derivative of formula II in which R1W4 are each H, alky, hydroxyalkyl, or alkenyl. Said developing solution contains said derivative by 0.01W30g/l, and the developed material undergoes dye bleach, silver bleach, and fixing processes.
