PURPOSE: To enhance sharpness and storage stability of the photosensitive material by incorporating a specified yellow coupler and a specified high-boiling solvent.

CONSTITUTION: This photosensitive material contains the yellow coupler of formula I having a unit molecular weight of 250 - 750, embodied by formula II and the like, and the high-boiling solvent of formula III, embodied by formula IV. In formula I and III, R1 is alkyl or aryl; R2 is H, halogen, or the like; R3 is H or a substituent; X is a releasable group; (m) is 0 - 4; Y is O, S, or the like; Z- is an anion; L is a bonding group; each of T1 and T2 is carbonyl or sulfonyl; R4 is H, alkyl, or the like; R5 is alkyl, aryl, or the like; and (n) is 1 - 3. The layer containing the coupler of formula II can contain the solvent of formula IV.
