The silver halide emulsion and the matting agent and the photographic support contain a compound represented by the formula in which each of R1 and R2 is an alkyl group for combining with each other and forming an optionally substituted 4, 5, 6, or 7-membered, most preferably, 5-membered cycloalkyl group, but no benzene ring; and R3 is H atom or an alkyl group, preferably, a 1-8C alkyl group, to be concrete, methyl, isopropyl, butyl, t-amyl, hexyl, or cyclohexyl group.
