PURPOSE: To obtain a high-speed photographic material having satisfactory contrast and to provide an image forming method using the photographic material.
CONSTITUTION: This photographic material contains photosensitive silver halide particles, practically nonphotosensitive silver halide particles and a compd. capable of imagewise releasing a chemical sensitizer when the photosensitive silver halide is imagewise developed to silver on the substrate. The speed of the practically nonphotosensitive silver halide particles is at least 10 times as low as that of the photosensitive silver halide particles under the same conditions in exposure and development. The chemical sensitizer enables the development of practically nonphotosensitive silver salt particles. A planographic printing plate is produced using this photographic material.
