PURPOSE: To facilitate operation and to shorten operation time without the need for peeling a masking film by specifying the overall photographic gradation measured at the wavelength at which light shielding parts exhibit the highest transmission density within a specific wavelength region.
CONSTITUTION: Dyestuff images are formed by executing exposing and developing to form the light transmissive parts and light shielding parts for light of at least any wavelength in the 300 to 500nm wavelength region. Silver halide emulsion layers may be single layer or ≥2 layers and emulsions can be so spectrally sensitized as to be photosensitized to the wavelength meeting need. This photosensitive material is formed to have ≥3 overall photographic gradation measured at the wavelength at which light shielding parts exhibit the highest transmission density within the 300 to 500nm wavelength region. The leg part photographic gradation measured at the wavelength at which the light shielding parts exhibit the same transmission density is specified to ≥1.5. The respective photographic gradations are adjustable by developing conditions as well in addition to the chemical maturation conditions (sodium thiosulfate content, temp., time, etc.), the distribution width of particles, additives (for example, stainproof agent, couplers etc.) of the emulsions.
