To provide a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material which ensures no scratching of films, excellent transportability and reduced density variation due to humidity change even when rapidly heat-developed with a small low-cost laser imager equipped with a heat developing device adopting pickup with a roller, and an image forming method.
The silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material has a photosensitive layer containing an organic silver salt, silver halide grains, a binder and a reducing agent and a non-photosensitive layer on one and the same side of a support and has a back coat layer on the other side opposite to the photosensitive layer, wherein the back coat layer contains a matting agent comprising an organic resin. The silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material is heat-developed with a heat developing device using a photosensitive material transport system configured such that a feed roller is brought into contact with a bunch of a plurality of stacked sheet films of such a silver salt photothermographic dry imaging material and the uppermost sheet film of the bunch is fed by rotation of the feed roller.
