PURPOSE: To simplify operation, and to prevent the generation of cross trouble, etc., by fast sticking and fixing two end face members on cables on both sides of a cable connecting section, cylindrically winding a flexible sheet between said end face members and sealing the end face members and the flexible sheet and the mating section of the flexible sheet.
CONSTITUTION: End face plates 4, 4' area fast stuck and fastened to each of cables 1 through spacers 5, 5' while holding connecting sections 2. A flexible sheet 19 is wound cylindrically between the end face plates 4, 4' under the state in which an air vent valve 12 set up to the end face plate 4 is opened. The oppositely faced two sides of the flexible sheet 19 are positioned along the outer circumferential surfaces of small diametral sections 11, 11 and a sealing surface 17 respectively while a sealing member 20 and a pushing member 25 are mounted and bolts 30 are clamped. Accordingly, the space of sealing bars 21, 21 is narrowed, and the flexible sheet 19 among the outer circumferential surfaces of the small diametral sections 11, 11 and the seal rings 22 of the sealing member 20 is held firmly. Sealing bars 21, 21 are also pushed in the radial direction at the same time.
