To minimize an electric connection and downsize a single base fluorescent lamp socket by providing a power source terminal part of a conductive terminal on the inside of an envelope for enveloping a lamp pin insert hole.
A socket body 1 has a recessed part 1a for housing a base 5a of a single base fluorescent lamp 5 on the front side, and four substantially circular lamp pin insert holes 1a for inserting lamp pins 5b formed on the bottom part of the recessed part 1a. A conductive terminal 2 is housed in the back surface side of the lamp pin insert hole 1b of a conductive terminal housing part 1d with its lamp terminal 2b side and power soruce temrinal part 2a side being set on the recessed part 1a side and a cover 3 side, respectively. The chain lock piece 2e of the power source terminal part 2a of the conductive terminal 2 is provided on substantially the inside of the envelope for enveloping the four lamp pin insert holes 1b, so that the most part of the conductive terminal 2 is housed on substantially the inside of the diameter necessary for the rotation of the lamp pins 5b when a single base fluorescent lamp 5 is installed to downsize a single base fluorescent lamp socket.
