Abstract:
[Problem] To eliminate hacking by a bright illumination attack on a quantum key delivery receiving device equipped with a single photon detector. [Solution] The present invention comprises: a random number generator that generates random number bit value information which includes a random number value i and the time at which the random number value i was generated; a light intensity modulator that modulates the intensity of light input from the outside at a transmittance Ti determined by the random number value i; a single photon detector that receives input of the input light which was intensity-modulated by the light intensity modulator and generates, as reception information, a time at which a single photon was detected; and a counting processing circuit that calculates a determination value Si/(TiMi) for the random number value i from a photon detection rate Si of the single photon detector, a mark rate Mi which is the percentage accounted for by the random number value i of the random number values generated by the random number value generator, and the transmittance Ti, and that outputs an authentication signal indicating authentication if the determination value satisfies a predetermined criteria or outputs an authentication signal indicating denial if the predetermined criteria is not satisfied.
