Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sinomenine derivatives and a process for synthesizing the same.SOLUTION: Sinomenine (alkaloid isolated from a root of Sinomenium acutum) was reported to have an antiinflammatory activity, an analgesic activity, a hypotensive activity and an antiarrhythmic activity. Sinomenine has some undesired side effect although it relieves the symptoms of rheumatic arthritis. Therefore compounds having a structure related to sinomenine are considered to have less inconvenient effect and be more effective clinically. The invention generally provides a process useful for producing sinomenine derivatives and intermediate compounds. Especially the aforementioned process includes a synthetic route for producing (+)-sinomenine derivatives and intermediate products thereof.
