Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it possible to adjust the size of a gap between an impeller and a screen without using fixing spacers.
CONSTITUTION: This machine has a freely extensible spacer device 70 for setting the gap between the impeller 16 and the screen 18 of the size reduction machine. The device 70 has a first collar having a bore extending in an axial direction and an internal thread on the inside surface of the bore. The first collar has a circumferential shroud 58 extending in the axial direction. The device has a secodn collar having a base portion, a barrel portion and an axial bore penetrating the same. The barrel portion has an external thread to be screwed to the internal thread. The shroud covers the barrel portion and the first collar frictionally engages the base portion when screwed to the second collar. The device has a calibrated scale on the base portion and plural gradations at the circumference of the shroud in order to indicate the axial length of the spacer device when the first collar is rotated relatively to the second collar.
