Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sizing press method by which the buckling in a slab is effectively restrained by making the driving power of slab transporting means smaller and a device therefor.
SOLUTION: This device is a sizing press device which is provided with the slab transporting means and a pair of dies 52 which are provided so that both edge parts of the slab 51 are reduced in the width direction by synchronizing with the slab transporting means when it is stopped and provided with a buckling restraining plate 1 whose under surface is formed into a curved surface part 1a and which is provided so as to vertically move in the upper part of the slab 51, height adjusting cylinder 8 which is provided on the buckling restraining plate 1 so that the under surface of this buckling restraining plate 1 is lowered until the plate is brought into contact with the upper surface of the slab or forms a very small gap by synchronizing with means for intermittently transporting the slab when the transporting means is stopped and height adjusting means such as an eccentric bushing 3 and elevating/lowering means.
