PURPOSE: To obtain a skin cosmetic composition containing trimethylglycine and a plant extract, excellent in use touch, having good moisture retainability and long-activity of the effect.

CONSTITUTION: This skin cosmetic composition contains trimethylglycine and one or more kinds of the extracts of plants selected from Formes japonicus, Artemisia princeps, Artemisia capillaris, etc. The trimethylglycine and the plant extract are compound in amounts of 0.05-20wt.% and 0.01-5wt.%, respectively. When the amount of the compound plant extract is <0.01wt.%, the moisture retainability is not maintained, and when the amount of the plant extract is >5wt.%, the characteristic smell and color of the plant extract are generated to damage the commercial value of the skin cosmetic composition. The skin cosmetic composition can be produced in the form of a liquid, a paste, gel, an emulsion, a cream, etc., and utilized as a beauty wash, a beauty liquid, a milky lotion, a cream, a pack, a foundation, etc.
