Abstract:

To provide an -MSH inhibitor and a skin external preparation which remedies abnormal pigmentation such as dull color relating to -MSH.

The -MSH inhibitor composed of an essence of Sophora flavescens is contained in the skin external preparation such as cosmetics. Preferably, an essence of Sophora flavescens Leguminoseae is used for the skin external preparation such as cosmetics composed of a polar solvent extract of roots and/or its solvent-removed product.
