Abstract:
To provide a skin-whitening agent that causes no safety problem even when it is ingested or applied to the skin, and develops excellent skin- whitening effect that removes spots, freckles, and darkness on the skin and give a skin-whitening composition containing the same.
This skin whitening agent includes, as an active ingredient, a glycerophospholipid including highly unsaturated fatty acids, for example, eicosapentaenoic acid and/or docosahexaenoic acid or the like. The oil component used in the agent is obtained from eggs, cuttlefish or fish roes. This whitening agent is formulated to prepare skin-whitening compositions in the form of foods, cosmetics and drugs.
