Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the quantity of intrusion of a tool into a work and to prevent the tool or work from being broken by sending a stop signal to a servo driving part in the moment a skip signal is detected at the time of a skip command and stopping a servomotor.
CONSTITUTION: The numerical controller 3 consists of an NC data processing part 1 which processes numerical data according to an NC program and a servo driving part 2 which drives the servomotor 4 with a command from the NC data processing part 1. The stop signal is sent from the NC data processing part 1 to the servo driving part 2 the moment a skip command from a skip sensor which detects the tool colliding against the work during the skip command executing an NC program for measuring the tool length is inputted from a machine side to the NC data processing part 1, thereby stopping the servomotor 4. A command for returning a table by a specific distance in the opposite direction from the moving direction of the table before the stop is outputted from the NC data processing part 1 to the servo driving part 2.
