To provide a slide drive device for a press in which a slide motion capable of ensuring a time for work transportation is realized even productivity of the press is improved.
In a three-shaft link 16 of a slide drive device 10, an angle θformed by straight lines A and B linking a fixing shaft 23 and two connection shafts 24 and 25 is set an acute angle. In the whole slide motion, thereby a slide position with respect to an arbitrarily crank angle can be higher than that of a conventional type, and a time for a slide to position more than a required height for the work transportation becomes longer compared with the same SPM. As a result, a trans-feeder can be driven with a sufficient allowance in time, and the work transportation can be surely conducted without largely causing acceleration and deceleration on a transfer bar or the like or without applying a strict restriction to designing mold even the productivity of the press is enhanced.
