To obtain a slide gate plate excellent in corrosion resistance and slidability by using a sintered body, which blends MgO in baddeleyite, is made to a prescribed particle size, is granulated with bond and is hot pressed, to a molten metal pouring hole.
A slide gate plate consists of a plate main body 2 of rectangular plate shaped and a pouring hole part 3 fitted/fixed to a fitting hole 2a and has a through hole 4 as a nozzle hole for molten metal flow adjustment. The zirconia sintered body of pouring hole part 3 is produced so that 2-5% MgO as stabilizing agent is blended in 95-98 weight part baddeleyite, a powder having 0.5-5μm average particle size of ≥325 mesh is made, a granular body of <3mm max particle diameter with organic or inorganic bond is made and then a material of <6% porocity by compacting/sintering is made. In this way, as machining to high precision is made possible, the pouring hole part 3 is prevented from erosion by molten metal due to excellent corrosion resistance and spalling resistance.
