Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding mechanism capable of causing a moving part to move in a slide manner relative to a base portion with space saved.SOLUTION: An upper slide mechanism 14 includes a rack gear 18 provided on a vehicle body 11 and extending along a wall surface of the body 11 in the lengthwise direction, a pinion gear meshing with the rack gear 18, and a changing mechanism 20 provided with the pinion and fixed to a slide door 13. The changing mechanism 20, which operates with a rotational motion of the pinion gear as a power source, is configured to deform in a shrinkage manner in the vehicle width direction due to shorting of the vehicle width length between the pinion gear and the slide door 13 resulting from a rotation of the pinion gear in one direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
