PURPOSE: To make it possible to record various kinds of information relating to a specific specimen on a magnetic recording medium with a recording head by fixing this magnetic recording medium with which magnetic recording is possible to a slide for a microscope.

CONSTITUTION: The magnetic recording medium 2 is fixed near to the end on the front surface side (the side to be adhered with the specimen of a transparent glass substrate 1 having a rectangular shape. The magnetic recording medium 2 is formed by using Fe2O3 as an essential component, applying a mixture formed by mingling some cobalt powder with this component and kneading the mixture with a binder such as resin at a thickness of 5 to 30μ on the substrate and drying the coating to stick the coating. The thickness of such magnetic recording medium 3 is preferably ≥10μ in view of preventing the adhesion of the plural slides for the microscope to each other when these slides are placed thereon. The read information may be recorded on the magnetic recording medium 2 by the recording head or the necessary information may be directly recorded on the magnetic recording medium 2 from a keyboard.
