Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve slide characteristics by specifying the area rate and a hydrogen content amount of the square conical metallic crystal of a slide surface.
CONSTITUTION: A slide surface constituting body 4 being a metallic crystal aggregate having body-centered cubic structure has a slide surface 4a, which has the area rates A of hexagonal and triangular conical metallic crystals 6 and 7 being set to A ≥40%. Thus, the adjoining substances of, for example, the hexagonal metallic crystal 6 are brought into a state to cut through each other, and the slide surface 4a has a number of very fine root parts 8 forming an oil reservoir. Meanwhile, an H (hydrogen) content amount of the metallic crystal aggregate is set to H≥0.01wt.%. This constitution improves hardness of the hexagonal conical metallic crystal 6 and makes it possible that a part of H is present in a crystal. During slide, the tip side of the hexagonal conical metallic crystal 6 is prevented from plastic deformation and sheared and worn in a direction crossing the direction of height owing to brittleness occasioned by inclusion of H. As a result, oil holding ability by the root part 8 is ensured and since face-to-face slide occurs, a friction factor is reduced.
