Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a compactness, strength, durability, load capacity and operation angle.
SOLUTION: Eight torque transmission balls 3 are arranged. The ratio r1(= PCDBALL/DBALL) between the pitch circle diameter PCDBALL (PCDBALL=2×PCR) and the diameter DBALL of the torque transmission ball 3 is set to the value within the range of 2.9≤r1≤4.5 and the ratio r1(=DOUTER/PCDSERR) and the ratio r1(=DOUTER/PCDSERR) between the outer diameter DOUTER of the outside joint member 1 and the pitch circle diameter PCDSERR of the serration (or spline) 2c of the inside joint member 2 is set to the value within the range of 2.5≤r2≤3.5. Thereby, the stable operability and a constant velocity property of the joint is ensured and simultaneously the strength shortage of a holder and the falling-off of the torque transmission ball from a packet can be prevented.
