Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding ceramic parts which is capable of achieving the sufficient one-side contact preventive effect by providing a crowning even under a severe service condition, and excellent in fatigue-resistant performance of a ceramic body by controlling the crowning quantity under an appropriate condition.
SOLUTION: Crowning is executed on a sliding end face of a ceramic plate of a tappet. Adjustment is made to satisfy the inequality of H+0.2D<3D, where H (μm)is the crowning height measured at room temperature, and D (mm) is the outside diameter of the sliding end face. The crowning height H is adjusted to satisfy the inequality H-0.5D>0.5F when the orthogonality of the sliding end face is defined by the distance F between a plane passing a point A orthogonal to the axis and a plane passing a point B, where the forward direction is the direction toward the ceramic body from a metallic body side in the axial direction, A is a point located most forward of an outer edge of the sliding end face, and B is a point located most rearward thereof.
