To provide a sliding door driving device for a vehicle capable of simplifying the control of the rotational speed of an electric motor.
A supporting body is assembled on a front door through a slide rail. A drum 33 is connected with the electric motor mounted on the front door, an opening side cable 35a and a closing side cable 35b are payed out from the drum 33 and are connected with the supporting body, respectively, and the supporting body is pulled by the cable 35 and is reciprocated along the slide rail. This sliding door driving device is provided with a four-node link mechanism composed of a pair of parallel links having one ends supported on an opening part of a vehicle body turnably and the other ends supported on the supporting body turnably. A guide rail having a curved part at one end of a linear part is fixed on a base plate, and a pin at a tip of a bent part of a driving link is engaged with the guide rail. The drum 33 takes up the cable 35 in a small diameter part 33a when swinging and takes up the cable 35 in a large diameter part 33b when sliding.
