Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sliding member preventing noise generation by dispersing/precipitating one kind or more of a Pb intermetallic compound in a copper and/or a ferreous sliding material to improve wear resistance under a high bearing pressure.
SOLUTION: One kind or more of a Pb intermetallic compound made of a metal element to likely form a Pb intermetallic compound is dispersed/ precipitated in a copper and/or a ferreous sliding material. Pb content in the Pb inter-metallic compound is in a range of 1-30 wt.%, a metal element to likely form an intermetallic compound with Pb is, from a view point of cost, Ti, Mg, Ca, Ba, Zr, Li, Hf, La, Te, Se, Sm, etc., in particular, Ti, Mg, Zr are preferably used and are contained in a range of about 0.5-10%. Further, in order to secure joining strength to a backing and to facilitate sinterability, a bronze sintering slide material containing 2-10 wt.% Sn is very useful.
