PURPOSE: To automatically alter a printing start position at every slip and to eliminate the error due to manual work and the waste of time setting paper by inputting the adjustment quantity of a reference value.

CONSTITUTION: At first, the adjustment quantity of the reference value determining a printing start apparatus is inputted from the input part 2 of a keyboard apparatus. Next, it is judged whether the inputted adjustment quantity 1 is proper on reference to an adjustment quantity file 4 and, when the adjustment quantity is proper, the reference adjustment quantity 1. is informed to a request cue 5. When the adjustment quantity 1 is improper, further correct adjustment quantity is inputted. Next, the reference value adjustment quantity 1 is read from the command cue to be informed to a printer driver controlling a printing start position. The printer driver alters the reference value determining the printing start position by the value of the reference value adjustment quantity 1. Finally, the reference adjustment quantity 1 is displayed on a display device 20. By this method, the reference value adjustment quantity at every slip is calculated to be stored and registered in the adjustment quantity file 4 and, by this method, the printing start position at every slip on and after can be automatically altered and set, for example, by a menu selecting system.
