PURPOSE: To carry out the ending of a sliver by clamping the integrated part of the sliver ends of two slivers with a pair of rubbing members and alternately moving the rubbing members in opposite directions.

CONSTITUTION: The integrated part of the ends of slivers S1 and S2 is clamped with a pair of rubbing members 37, 38. The slivers are rubbed and ended by alternately moving the rubbing members 37, 38 in opposite directions shown by the arrows. The position of the integrated part is not displaced in the rubbing operation and the rubbing work can be performed without applying useless tension to the slivers.
