PURPOSE: To mechanize sliver lapping and perform the automatic continuous operation of a spinning machine by preventing fibers from being scattered via the thrusting action and regulating action of fibers by multiple needles of a regulating piece and the twining action of fibers by the pressure air.

CONSTITUTION: A regulating piece 9 and a pressing piece 10 are moved in a guide groove 5 concurrently or staggeringly so that the regulating piece 9 side is delayed, and sliver end sections Sl, S2 in the groove 5 are pressed by the pressing piece 10. Needles 8 of the regulating piece 9 penetrate the needle passing holes 12 of a bottom plate 6 and are inserted into end sections S1, S2 and needle passing holes 14 of the pressing piece 10. When multiple needles 8 are inserted into the end sections S1, S2, the fibers of the overlapped end section S1 are thrust into the fibers of the end section S2 by the needles 8. Pressure air is injected through pressure air injection holes 15 of the pressing piece 10 by valves of pressure air feed pipes 16, 17, after this injection is stopped, pressure air is injected through pressure air injection holes 11 of the regulating piece 9. Fibers are twined together by the stream of the injected pressure air, and both end sections S1, S2 are surely connected.
