To provide a highly reliable slow-descending device capable of letting refugees descend to the ground always stably at automatically maintained stable and nearly constant descending speed without requiring an outside power supply whether there is one or there are many occupants in the device.
The slow-descending device comprises a generator 5 for braking the rotation of a load rotating part 4, an electric circuit 7 to which both ends of the generator 5 are connected and through which induction currents flow, a resistance part 8 capable of forming a plurality of resistance values for the induction currents in the electric circuit 7, a control part 10 for automatically switching the resistance value of the resistance part 8 to a prescribed resistance value so that the rotation of the generator 5 is held at a constant rotation frequency, and an auxiliary braking part 14 consisting of a first auxiliary braking part 12 comprising a centrifugal brake and a second auxiliary braking part 13.
