Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge thickener and a production method of thickened sludge capable of realizing the further thickening of sludge in liquid to be treated discharged from a settling tank without enlarging the settling tank and at a low cost.
SOLUTION: The sludge thickener 2 is provided with a storage tank 3 to which the liquid to be treated containing biological sludge discharged from the settling tank 1 is supplied, piping L2 through which the liquid to be treated is supplied to the storage tank 3, a changing means 4 which changes the liquid surface 7a of tank liquid 7 in the storage tank 3 and a contact member 8 disposed on the position with which the tank liquid 7 in the storage tank 3 is allowed to contact in accordance with the change of the liquid surface 7a by means of the changing means 4. In the apparatus 2, the tank liquid 7 is brought into contact with the contact member 8 when the liquid surface 7a of tank liquid 7 in the storage tank 3 is changed by means of the changing means 4. Presently, depositions 9 are deposited on the contact member 8, wherein, the depositions 9 are sludge which is adequately thickened as compared with the sludge in the liquid to be treated when being supplied to the storage tank 3. Therefore, the further thickening of the sludge in the liquid to be treated can be realized without enlarging the settling tank 1 and at a low cost.
