Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of preventing an insect pest controlling substance, etc., from scattering and suppressing even the volatilization with time and useful for the control of an underfloor structure of a building over insect pests such as termites by including water in a specific cellulose fiber and preparing the composition so as to provide a viscosity within a specified range.
SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (B) water in (A) (iii) a cellulose fiber such as a waste newsprint paper which is a good bait material for insect pests containing (i) an insect pest controlling substance such as boric acid mixed with (ii) a bonding substance and preparing the composition into a slurrylike form so as to have 10,000-50,000 cP viscosity. At least carboxymethyl cellulose is preferably formulated as the ingredient (ii). The resultant composition is capable of manifesting insect pest controlling functions by coating the surface of an underfloor structure therewith, etc., and forming a heat insulating layer when coating especially the back surface of a floorboard therewith, etc.
