Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the smart pixel device which enables a fast real-time path search and track control in movement control, etc., over a robot, etc.
CONSTITUTION: Function cells 10 are arrayed in two dimensions and equipped with at least light receiving elements, processor circuits, circuits for communication, electric conductors 14, and light emitting elements. An image of a movement space, etc., is inputted onto the array of the function cells 10, pixels at respective points are inputted by the light receiving elements in parallel, and an obstacle is specified and stored. Further, a start point and a target point are specified on the array of the function cells 10 through the light receiving elements, etc. The processor circuits propagate a signal from the target point to the start point while avoiding the obstacle to supply chain codes to adjacent function cells in order. The shortest path is specified with the chain codes and the result is outputted from the light emitting elements. The fast real-time path search and movement control are enabled by parallel image processing and signal propagation processing by the function cells 10.
