Title:
NICKEL-HYDROGEN SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3235895
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent a short circuit and to improve the discharge property by providing a negative electrode mainly of a hydrogen storage alloy shown as a specific general expression, a positive electrode mainly of a Ni compound, and a separator which consists of a specific nonwoven fabric.
CONSTITUTION: A separator 3 consists of a dry nonwoven fabric made by laminating and integrating a parallel web and a cross web with the weight ratio of the parallel web 50 to 80%, and the weight per area 30 to 70mg/m2. As a result, the fiber weight per a specific area is made even, and clearances can be reduced. Consequently, in a secondary battery which consists of an electrode group having a negative electrode 1 mainly of a hydrogen storage alloy shown as a general expression LnNixMnyAZ (where Ln is an element of a rate earth elements including La, A is Al or Co, arid the atomic ratio is 4.8≤x+y+Z≤5.4), and a positive electrode 2 mainly of a Ni compound, the Mn separated in the charge and discharge cycle does not penetrate the separator 3, and an internal short circuit can be prevented.
