Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily form desired fin-like protrusions and to show more significant REPELLENCY by providing the inside of the strands forming fin-like protrusions with fine steel cores finer than those inside the other strands.
CONSTITUTION: Among the peripheal strands of an optical fiber combined overhead earth cable which is formed by stranding aluminum covered steel wires 10, only strands forming fin-like protrusions 3 have steel cores 1b finer than the steel cores 1a of the other strands, in order to make enough wall thickness to form the fin-like protrusions 3. In this way, a degree of freedom for dieing or rolling to form the fin-like protrusions 3 at required heights is increased to show significant snow repellency.
