Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve control performance in turning on a snow platform by providing an arch-shaped transition surface which glides at the time of being contact with snow and a member which supports a handle inclined slightly backward for adding downward pressure to the back part of a shell and reducing front pressure. SOLUTION: A hand support-type device comprises bottom surfaces 40 and 42 which glide at the time of being in contact with snow and a shelf 36 formed of at least semirigid material dimensioned so as to support the weight of a user partially. The bottom surfaces 40 and 42 comprises the front and back parts with respect to the intended direction of transition 44. The device is provided with an arch-shaped transition surface curved upward from the bottom surfaces 40 and 42 of the shell 36 so as to form a curved surface without edges for a gliding motion at the time of contact with snow. A handle 52 inclined slightly backward to support hands over the back part of the bottom surfaces 40 and 42 of the shell 36 is provided for adding downward pressure to the shell 36 and reducing front pressure in the intended direction of transition 44.
