Abstract:
To control the sharp change of voltage (dv/dt) and to reduce switching loss when a power semiconductor switching element is turned off.
In a snubber circuit used as a protective circuit for the control of the change of voltage (dv/dt) and for the protection of overvoltage of the voltage driving power semiconductor switching element, the circuit connected parallel to the switching element 1 starts its operation if the voltage of the switching element 1 exceeds a set voltage value that is lower than the voltage of a DC power supply 3 when the switching element 1 is turned off.
