PURPOSE: To obtain a socket for a straight tube type fluorescent lamp which facilitates the installation and the removal of the lamp.

CONSTITUTION: This is a socket for a straight tube type fluorescent lamp which holds two base pins T projecting from the base of a fluorescent lamp L, and connects to the base pins T electrically, and it is provided in the position corresponding to the above base pins T rotatable making its base end as the fulcrum, and it is installed by moving the base pins T almost parallel. In this case, the socket is rotated in the direction to approach its tips each other by making the above base end as the fulcrum by the abutting force of the base pins T, and it is provided with movable pieces 4 to hold the base pins T from both sides, and conductive plates 5 provided at the insides of the movable pieces 4, and it abuts on the base pins T, so as to obtain an electric connection.
