Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a thin film material having a high saturation magnetic flux density and excellent soft magnetic characteristics.
CONSTITUTION: This film has a composition expressed by FeaMcOd (where, M represents one or two or more kinds of elements or their mixtures selected from among Be, Ca, Sr, and Ba and a, c, and d are numbers in atmic percent satisfying the expressions, 70≤a≤95, 0.5≤C≤30, 2≤d≤25, and a+c+d=100). Therefore, a soft magnetic alloy film which is the optimum to the alloy film 3 of MIG (metal-in-gap) type magnetic heads suitably used for high-density magnetic recording and has a high saturation magnetic flux density can be obtained.
