Abstract:

To provide a soft magnetic film having a large saturation magnetic flux density and an excellent soft magnetic property, and a magnetic head using this soft magnetic film, by specifying the composition range of a soft magnetic film expressed by a specified formula.

A soft magnetic film is expressed by a formula FexMyLzJuQvOw (where M is at least one selected from Ru, Cr, Ti, Mo, W and Rh; L is at lest one selected from Y, Hf, Zr, Ta and Nb; J is a least one selected from Al and Ga; Q is at least one selected from Si and Ge; O is oxygen; and x, y, z, u, v and w represent the atomic percentage of each element). The composition rage is 60<x80, 0y<10, 2<z<10, 0≤u<10, 10<v<25, and 1<w<5. Thus, a high saturation magnetic flux density and an excellent soft magnetic property may be provided.
