Abstract:
To obtain a softened shellac composition having flexibility besides hot water resistance, moisture resistance and heat sealability being characteristics of shellac, capable of forming a film, having excellent peelability from a metal, a solution of the softened shellac composition, a solid material of the softened shellac composition and to provide a method for producing the same.
A white shellac in an amount of 80 pts.wt. is mixed with 10 pts.wt. of an epoxy soybean oil and 10 pts.wt. of decaglycerol monostearate and then melted under heating to form their mixture. The mixture is dissolved in a fixed amount of ethanol to produce an alcohol solution of the softened shellac composition.
