Abstract:
To provide a rule-based deployment of software installation.SOLUTION: Operation parameters for a computer system are monitored for a given time in order to generate a value history database. The computer system includes a plurality of instances of software installation. Some of the plurality of instances is updated by a new version of software. The operation parameters are then monitored in order to quantify whether or not the new version improves or reduces the performance of the computer system. The improvement or thep reduction is based on comparison of the values of operation parameters after deployment with the history values of these. The installation is rolled back depending on the evaluation of operation parameters after installation when reduction is indicated. Otherwise, the new software version is propagated to additional instances of installation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
